Poor Lil' Miss J.

No, I’m not talking about J. Alexander from America’s Next Top Slut/Model. (Speaking of sluts, have you guys seen Pussycat Dolls Present:TheSeach For The Next Doll? I call it “America’s Next Top Singing Stripper” because it looks like it. Watch it!! It’s so bad, It’s actually fun to watch!!!) I’m talking about J, a 23-year-old from New York who is on a hunger strike until Sanjaya Malakar, a contestant in American Idol, is voted off. She started this hunger strike some time after Sanjaya survived the first elimination of the top-12. Unfortunately for J, her plans backfired.

She announced her hunger strike through a YouTube video, which received quite a circulation all over the net thanks to gossip blogs like dlisted. Apparently, a lot of people who watched this video thought J could lose some weight (she’s a bit plump, to put it nicely). And also, people were amused by how seriously this woman takes the tv show, that they decided to go against her and vote for Sanjaya Malakar. It’s been 2 eliminations since the hunger strike, and J is still hungry. You go girl!!!

Many people are wondering how this Sanjaya character managed to survive this far in the competition. Personally, I think Fox has something to do with it. You see, from the beginning of this season, Critics have been saying how bland the contestants this year are. Even the good ones are not exciting-good. They’re pretty much bland. Fox needed some controversy to keep the media talking about American Idol, and viewers tuning in. Last week, a 13-year-old girl was caught on camera crying throughout Sanjaya’s performance. After the live-telecast, it was learned that the girl won a ticket to the dress rehearsal and the producers noticed this, so they offered her a seat on the live telecast, right in front of the camera. She had a lot of people talking about Sanjaya, and he’s even more popular than ever. Even Saturday Night Live parodied this event!!!

Looks like the whole of America is against J. What I’m really curious about is should Sanjaya win the competition, what would happen to her? Technically, he will not be voted off the show. Ever!! Does that mean J has to continue her strike until death? So that people will not call her a quitter?
