when u procrastinate

i should have done my management essay ages ago, but i managed to keep it until 4 days before it's due, just to start doing the research. on thursday, i realized that it was due on friday and i hadn't done shit! so i skipped thermodymanics and tried to write something. and then krunal called me asking me to fucking do the calculations part of the lab report, which was also due on friday.
FUCK!!!
so i rushed to do the lab, and at 6, i finally managed to finished it, and i was so tired, but i had to get my management essay done. so i worked non-stop until 2 a.m. the next morning, i woke up early to go to the library to print my essay and hand it in before the 10 'o' clock lab. guess what? the management studies centre opens at 10!!!!
THOSE LAZY BITCHES!!!!
i just went to lab, and krunal was late!!! we had to wait for him, and when we were doing the experiment, the two bastards in my group, krunal and mohamed refused to do anything!!! krunal claimed he didn't sleep the night before, and mohamed was just his usual hopeless self.
BASTARDS!!
so i had to do almost everything on my own, with my mind hardly on the experiment, because i couldn't stop thinking that my lab finishes at 1 and the management essay was due before noon. after the dry packing, we had to wet the column and it took at least 10 minutes. so i asked for permission to go hand in my management coursework. the lecturer said "be quick!" coldly, so i ran to management studies centre, handed in my coursework, and ran back to lab, and the demonstrator said "we start now."
FUCK!!
so i just continued the lab, still doing everything on my own, sweating like a pig from all that running. the experiment took quite a long time, especially the part where we needed two people to observe the column, and krunal was just sitting there, and i had to tell him to take the readings.
BASTARD!!!
at the end of the experiment, the demonstrator showed us what happens when flooding occurs. it was uber cool!

that afternoon, i was so happy, i went to duck n' dive for some nachos to celebrate the completion of another successful week.

El Tango De Roxanne

I don't know what was wrong with me last night, but all of a sudden I was thinking about Moulin Rouge like... all the time!And in that movie, there's this one song that I LOVE, it's called

El Tango De Roxanne

I used to listen to this song repeatedly until I fell asleep back in the days when I had migraine. So I went searching for this song over the internet last night, and I found this clip at YouTube. I wanted something that I can actually keep in my hard drive, so I tried ProjectW. Guess what?!!! I found the whole soundtrack!!! So I stayed up until 2 a.m. downloading it. I went to bed a really happy person. Please watch the clip below.....

The Spoilers

I was just thinking about IC Malaysian Night, and I remembered how I spoiled the show for the guy sitting next to me, Jiehan. You see, the play was supposed to have a big twist in the end, and I kinda figured it out like 3 scenes before the big revelation scene. Naturally, I was being kinda loud about it. The whole story went something like this:

Me: Hey! I think the char siu guy is actually one of the ghost in disguise la

Jiehan: No lah! I don't think so

{silence}

{The prince of Darkness appears on stage}

Me: {shouting}OMG!! Look at the Prince of Darkness! That's the char siu guy!!

Jiehan: Oh yeah! That is the char siu guy.

{Both of us were looking at the Prince of Darkness, trying to prove that he is in fact the char siu guy}

{Prince of Darkness walked out of the stage. I could see his shoes, and I recognized it!!}

Me: {shouting even louder} Look at those shoes!!! That definitely the char siu guy!!!

Jiehan: Don;t shout so loud la!!! You're spoiling the show for everyone, you idiot!!!

{silence}

Jiehan: Hey, but the bomoh's daughter could see the char siu guy. So she has powers too?

Me: It doesn't skip generations, huh?

In the end, we were told that the char siu guy was, in fact the Prince of Darkness. I wasn;t excited about this 'big' revelation. But, all of a sudden, the bomoh's daughter enters the stage, wearing al black, and claimed that she was controlling the the Prince of Darkness, and planned the whole thing!

So Jiehan spoiled it for me as well.

Win-Win.

Crazy Saturday

Yesterday morning I woke up quite early 'cuz Adelheid and Iris wanted to have pancake for breakfast at 9. After breakfast, I went to Oxford Street to find a long-sleeve white top to wear underneath the top Liza gave me for birthday, for IC Malaysian night. It was fun! It was a good day, sunny and a bit warm. I ended up buying a white top from Esprit, and they gave me student's discount. Super!

I went home, had lunch and went upstairs to try on my new top. I bumped into Sven and he told me he had three tickets to go on The Big Bus Tour. It's one of those topless buses that goes around London, and the ticket included a cruise on River Thames. He asked me if wanted to go, so I told him about IC Malaysian Night, saying I may not have the time to go.

Bummer.

I went into my room, tried the outfit on, and took a nap. At around 1515hrs Sven knocked on my door, and he told me he's going with Hanne on the tour, and asked me again if I wanted to go with them. I said I had to see Liza, Farahana, et al at Russel Square tube at 1745hrs, and I don't want to rush. He insisted, so I said "What the heck? let's just go!" So we went to Russel Square to board the topless bus.

The top deck was really cold, and because the bus was moving, really windy (duh!), but it was fun. I took lot's of pictures, and I suggested to Hanne and Sven that we should pretend to be tourists. It was easy because we were all foreigners.

a view of the Tower Bridge from London Bridge , and the Clock Tower, just after sunset.

We reached The Tower of London at about 1705hrs, and the tour guide said we could take the cruise from the pier there. So we got off the bus and went to the pier. The cruise was amazing! One of the safety guys acted as our guide, telling us about the building along the River Thames, and he was wickedly funny! We reached the Westminster Pier at 1745hrs, I was late, so there was no time to get changed. So i just took the tube to South Kensington from there, and as I reach the station, I called Liza and asked for directions. It went something like this:-

"You go out of the station to -blablabla- Street, I dunno la what the street is, but there's a W in the name of the street. if go out and you see Paul(as in the bakery) you know it's the right street la. And then you right, and then take a left, go straight, cross the big road and everything, and then you will see an "Underground" sign, there's two, and after the second one, take the first left, and then go straight for like ten years, and then you will see a banner that says IC Malaysian Night, it's there."

I couldn't remember all of the left and right, so I just followed my instincts, with bits of the directions given in my head, and after the second Underground sign, I saw a bunch of Malaysians, so I just followed them, assuming that they were on their way to IC Malaysian Night, and they were. Pheww!!

I was wearing the same top that I wore at the UCL Malaysian Night as i didn;t have the time to change into my new outfit, so I was a bit scared that some outfit-rememberer would recognize it. Nobody said anything. Double Phewwww!!!!

The show? hhhmmmm.. I didn't completely hate it, just not crazy about it.

So Sweeettttt!!!

Something exciting happened yesterday. Liza wanted to give me the present she got for my birthday(so sweet!!), so we went to Anwar's Restaurant in Grafton Way with Ariff and Dania. As I walked in, a guy who was waiting for his food at the counter smiled at me. I thought he was one of those people who just smiles at people, so I smiled back.
Then he went "I know you. But you don't know me."
I went "Huh?"
And he was like "You're in the Malaysian Society, right?"
So I went "Oh! You were there!!"
And he was like "Yes. It was really good. I recognize you from the show. I'm a fan."
SO SWEEEEETTTT!!!!!
It really made my day. Farahana walked in a bit late, and the guy didn;t say anything to her. hhhhhhhhhmmmmmmmmmmm.....
Lunch was great. The food was nice, and we talked and talked, and gossiped. Afterwards, I went to the library to try to finish my lab report. Before I started, I opened my bag and looked at the present Liza got me. And guess what? It was a v-neck green t-shirt!!! I was just thinking of going shopping and buy a v-neck t-shirt, because I have one and I kinda like the way it looks when I wear it with a different coloured round-neck underneath. Thank you so much Liza!! I really love it!!!
I didn;t feel well the whole night, so I didn't finish the report. I did all the calculations and graphs using excel, because I thought it would look neat and it's much easier. Today I found out that they actually give less marks for computer-generated graphs.
Excellent.
Today's lab was great. Nan Li was our demonstrator, and he's nice. I heard rumour that he's only nice to orientals, and that he is racist. Well.. Whatever. As long as it works for me, I'm totally OK with it. Hahaha.
Went to a Stateless gig tonight at ULU. It was really good, except for the really annoying smokers who polute the air with their cigarette smoke the whole time, and the fans of Daniel Peterson who performed before Stateless behaving like drunken Brits(wait... they WERE drunken Brits!!!). The worst part is, I forgot to bring a camera!!! And after the show, Tom annouced that this is their last performance as Stateless, as they're changing their name.
WHAT THE FUCK???!!!

Pancake Day

Last night, after dinner (where I had a plate of pasta and then a plate of rice), Iris walked in and say "Hey! It's Pancake Day!! Let's make some panckaes!!" So we called Sven, and asked him if he wanted to join. He said yes, so we told him to go to Sainsbury's to buy the ingredients. While waiting for Sven, Emma walked in with HER ingerients, telling us she was making pancakes as well. So Iris and I went "Let's compete! We'll see whose pancakes taste better." Emma had some guy from the West buiding, Chris to help her flip the pancakes, So we had 2 teams.

"Iron Chef : Pancake Day Special" was on.
We mixed our batter using a hand-blender, to make sure it was smooth, while Emma was struggling to wisk hers with her fork!! Emma didn't have a frying pan, so she borrowed Andy's, which I think is at least 5 years old. We used Iris' posh Tefal pan, and it was great. While Chris struggled to flip Emma's pancakes using a spatula, I was flipping ours by just moving theposh Tefal pan like a pro. Emma and Chris had their pancakes just with plain sugar, while we had a variety of toppings - home-made cinnamon sugar, jam and lemon curd, courtesy of Sven. Obviously, the Khalid-Iris-Sven team won.

Jon walked in, had one pancake, and I said "Hey! Are we still watching Ju On 2?" He was like "OK. Come on people! Let's all watch it. It's Japanese.I'm well scared already!!" So we went to Sven's room and watched it. Jon was scared all the time, and Chris and Emma were discussing the plot, which was totally unnecessary, distracting, and ruined the whole movie. Ju On was much scarier, but this one would have been a lot scarier if we had at least paid full attention to it.

After the movie, Jon played this weird sound machine he found in Stateless practice, and I showed Sven and Jon the pilot episode of Desperate Housewives. I went to bed at 2 a.m.

I woke up this morning, jumped out of bed, scared to death because I just remembered that I had a maths courework due today, and I hadn't started.

Shit!!!
